Study Buddies Could Help with Online EducationBy the All Online Schools career research team – Your link to Online School news, trends and programs Some students find the coursework at traditional or online schools to be more demanding than that which they experienced in high school, and these individuals might benefit from finding a study buddy. Certain online degree programs can be intense because the students pursuing them are very driven and they accelerate the pace of their courses. But sometimes even the most motivated students have difficulty keeping up, simply because they find a subject particularly tricky. These people might find working with a study partner helpful. The University of Illinois published an article about study partners and groups on its website. The article advises students to study in very small groups or with only one partner because too many people can be distracting. The article also says it might be a good idea to choose a partner whose academic strengths are different, as they can provide balance. Meeting other students can also improve the social aspect of attending an online school. Glenn Sparks is a professor of communication at Purdue University. In an article published on the school's website, Sparks says that building college friendships involves making commitments. "Making friends is like managing a bank account," says Sparks. "You must make investments, and it is never too early to start." Read More Online Observer Articles Find a Top Online Degree Program Today – Getting Your Online Degree is One Step Away! |
