Students often borrow money and use it to pay their tuition. In exchange, they receive the skills they need to compete in the professional world. The more your invest in your education, the more likely you are to earn an increase in salary. In October 2009, the Bureau of Labor Statistics said that full-time workers age 25 and over who finished high school had weekly median earnings of $621. Individuals with a bachelor's earned $1,145 each week and some professionals with a master's degree or higher made up to $3,260. ThomasNet News recently reported the stigma attached to online education is fading, and that many companies now view online school grads as having a legitimate diploma. Online education grew 13 percent in 2008, and this could be proof that degrees earned through an online schools are leading students to solid careers.
