The Princeton Review, an educational services company known for test preparation materials and other resources for college-bound students, has released the latest edition of its annual college rankings. The Best 371 Colleges – 2010 Edition, released at the end of July, compiles the survey results from 122,000 students at 371 top college—including those attending online schools such as Boston University and Chapman University. The book ranks schools on a variety of topics pertaining to campus experience, such as career services, athletic facilities and financial aid.

The 62 different lists cover academic aspects of the college experience, like Most Accessible Professors and Best College Library, as well as extracurricular, social and demographic characteristics such as Most Politically Active, Best College Radio Station and Great College Towns. Highlights of this year's rankings include Penn State as the Top Party School, while students are happiest with their financial aid at Swarthmore College. A new category this year, Best Career Services, had the University of Florida at the top of the list.

The book also gives numerical ratings to colleges on criteria including Admissions Selectivity, Financial Aid, Fire Safety, and Green, awarding Honor Roll status to those that receive a score of 99 on a scale of 60 – 99. In addition, a new section of the book lists The Princeton Review's 100 "Best Value" Colleges for 2009. The colleges were selected and ranked based on factors such as undergraduate academics, costs, financial aid and average loan debt of graduating seniors. With these latest additions to the mix, prospective students researching colleges will no doubt continue to find the Princeton Review rankings an invaluable resource.
