Argosy University

Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership

Argosy University designed its Doctor of Education (EdD) in Educational Leadership to meet the demanding requirements of educational professionals looking to become leaders of educational institutions, while obtaining balance between their career, family and education. Argosy University developed a program that offers students the chance to enhance their personal and professional expertise in the areas of change management, problem-solving, financial management, planning and program evaluation, among others - all taught within the context of leading within an educational institution. The curriculum also explores the historical, philosophical, psychological, technical, theoretical and practical aspects of education and institutional administration.

Concentrations

In the EdD Educational Leadership program you will take courses that are designed to reinforce and expand core skills in all aspects — both practical and theoretical — of education, as well as to introduce you to advanced curriculum training. You must also select from one of the following four-course concentrations:

  • Higher Education: Designed for teachers and administrators who are planning to lead large, complex educational institutions and organizations.
  • K-12 Education: Tailored for K-12 teachers who seek to improve their classroom performance, develop their career, or want to shift into an instructional design role.

Certification and Licensure

Please note while the courses and curriculum in the EdD in Education Leadership program are designed to satisfy prevailing state licensure and certification requirements in many states, students are responsible for checking with the educational administrator certification agency in the state in which they plan to work to confirm the applicability and eligibility of program courses and degrees to meet local requirements prior to enrollment.

The programs offered through Argosy University Online Programs DO NOT lead to teacher or administrator certification, licensure, or endorsement in any State in the United States regardless of the State in which the student resides.
