Associate of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies - Early Childhood Education
The early childhood development emphasis is designed to provide students with the relevant knowledge and skills needed to be a certified professional working with infants, toddlers, pre- school and kindergarten-aged children in a daycare or educational setting.* If you are already employed in childcare and wish to pursue recognized credentials, the early childhood development emphasis could also be for you.
Focus on infant and toddler development, nutrition, health and special-needs care; and study subjects such as childhood education, creative activities and curriculum planning. Upon graduation, you could pursue positions in early childhood programs such as childcare centers, pre-kindergarten and kindergarten programs, head start programs, and before or after-school care.
*Although Kaplan University's programs are designed to prepare students to receive various credentials, the University cannot guarantee students will be awarded those credentials. In some cases, field experience may be necessary to be eligible for the credentials.
