This degree program could help develop the talent you need to pursue or advance your career in the field of international and comparative criminal justice.† You will have the opportunity to learn how to collect, analyze, synthesize, and report information regarding international and comparative criminal justice procedures and investigations. Particular emphasis is placed on evaluating policy recommendations, planning, procedural design, emerging trends, and preventative approaches to transnational crime to help you stand out in this field.

The Bachelor of Science in International and Comparative Criminal Justice is designed to provide a foundation for a critical, global approach to the analysis of cross-cultural theories of crime, legal systems, jurisprudence, policing, courts, juvenile justice, and other substantive offenses. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Areas of study in computer crime, smuggling, narco- terrorism, human and migrant trafficking, and cyberlaundering
  • The complexities of the causes, prevention, and containment of global criminal activity
  • Evaluation of the components of international criminal justice systems as they apply to transnational and international crime

Career opportunities could include special agent, intelligence research specialist, collection management officer, counterterrorism analyst, and protective agent. Agencies and departments that may be looking for degree holders include the Department of Homeland Security, the Drug Enforcement Administration, metropolitan police departments, the United Nations, US immigration, customs enforcement, and the CIA.‡
